Summer Academic Enrichment Programming Funding

See below for a message from United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

Greetings!

As a summer youth enrichment provider and partner of YDRC, we wanted to extend a special invitation to register your youth enrichment programming with United Way’s Summer Discovery Provider Database. Thanks to a meaningful local investment from Ballmer Group, children in Southeast Michigan can look forward to the Best Summer Ever!

Beginning in January 2024, traditional and charter schools will have the opportunity to apply for up to $2,000 per student to provide instruction and enrichment activities in summer 2024. In its first year, the programs will be for students completing grades K-8 in spring 2024 (Rising 1st – Rising 9th graders). For 4-5 weeks during the summer, students will participate in academic programming focused on ELA and Math supports for an average of 3 hours per day and filling out the remaining 4+ hours with quality enrichment time. The Ballmer Group has committed to investing in summer educational programming for children in Southeastern Michigan over the next three years.

This is where providers like you come in!  Awarded schools will be looking to partner with a variety of enrichment providers to offer unique and engaging learning opportunities to their students.

We will be sharing this database resource with awarded schools.  They can reach out directly to organizations and providers that fit their program needs. To be part of the resource please be sure to add your information using this link: https://forms.office.com/r/iUZAujKZft.

Feel free to share this form with other youth enrichment providers you feel may be interested in partnering with schools to offer amazing summer programming!

If you have any questions about the nature of this request, please reach out to United Way for Southeastern Michigan directly at EducationPartners@unitedwaysem.org.
